The short answer is no. You will drift off to sleep with deep twilight or general anesthesia, depending on your health and the extent of your procedure. Your comfort is of upmost importance to us and we have found that this produces a positive patient experience. I will also give you a sub mucosal tumescence and a pudendal block with long acting local anesthetic, you will have pain relief the first 12 to 24 hours. Patients report mild to moderate discomfort that can be controlled by analgesics and cold packs to the area. We do everything possible to minimize any pain.
We ask that you wait 6 weeks. This is very important! It gives your body the time it needs to heal and fully recover. Since this is one of the main reasons you are having this procedure done, so be sure to stick to this rule.
In general returning to work is dependent on the type of work you do. Most patients can return in 7 days. If your job requires a high degree of walking or physical exercise, we will customize a recovery plan for you.
We have Concierge Service for those who are traveling here from out of town and can help with your accommodations. You can usually return home in 4 days.
Insurance will not cover these procedures as they are considered elective procedures and are not considered medical necessity. If you are adding on a covered procedure such as a sling or Essure, D&C, etc, that portion should be covered by your insurance.
This is very common after childbirth. Which is one of the reasons I felt passionate about becoming an expert in these procedures. My patients would ask me what they could do to get that feeling back and all I had to offer at the time was kegel exercise to help strengthen their pelvic floor.
True vaginal rejuvenation changes the architecture of your vagina on the INSIDE. Some Drs’ refer to labiaplasty as vaginal rejuvenation. Labiaplasty refers to work done on the labia, which is on the outside of the vagina. Some plastic surgeons would do well to go back to anatomy class when talking about girl parts. Also, they refer to “vaginal rejuvenation” when they are speaking about the vaginal entrance and are not sculpting the size of the entire vaginal length.
Laser Vaginal Rejuvenation® for or the enhancement of sexual gratification is a modification of a standard gynecologic surgical procedure. The laser is used to perform, precise, aesthetic surgical incisions. This technique is a relatively bloodless procedure performed on an outpatient basis. The vaginal muscles and support tissues are tightened, as well as reduce redundant vaginal mucosa (relaxed vaginal lining). This enhance vaginal muscle, tone, strength, and control. It decreases the internal and outer (introitus) vaginal diameters, as well as build up the perineal body (the area immediately outside the vagina and above the anus. According to Masters and Johnson, sexual gratification for the female is directly related to the amount of frictional forces generated. You will be tightened the amount you would like to be able to have a hand and glove fit.
Your urinary problem is called stress urinary incontinence. It is caused by the vaginal relaxation of the top part of the vaginal wall. Often times Laser Vaginal Rejuvenation®, Vaginal Rejuvenation, can correct your problem with mild stress urinary incontinence and enhance sexual gratification all at the same time. If the leakage is a larger issue, there are other procedures available that we do and you will be given choices at the time of your consultation after exam.
Depending on your circumstances you can be a candidate for the Laser Vaginal Rejuvenation®.
