Vaginal Rejuvenation
Changes to the vaginal tissue are common after childbirth, weight fluctuations, and the body’s natural aging process. Over time, the vaginal tissues lose strength and tightness. This can impact the appearance of the vagina and sensation during intercourse for both you and your partner.
If you wish that you could regain the look and feel of your vagina from years past, you should consider vaginal rejuvenation. This procedure can improve the strength, tone, and appearance of the vaginal tissues, improving your confidence and comfort in intimate settings.
When to Consider
You may want to consider vaginal rejuvenation if you’re struggling with:
Reduced sensation during sex
The feeling of a loose or wide vagina
Stress urinary incontinence (involuntary loss of urine while coughing, laughing, sneezing, etc.)
Trouble with tampons falling out
Scar tissue in the vaginal tissue
Candidates for Vaginal Rejuvenation
There’s no particular age that’s best for vaginal rejuvenation. However, it’s best to wait until you’re done having children before undergoing this procedure if you are considering surgical rejuvenation. If you have a vaginal delivery after rejuvenation, you could compromise the results of the treatment and once again experience looseness in the vaginal tissues. We recommend that women wait for a minimum of three to six months after childbirth before undergoing this treatment.
Surgical vs. Non-Surgical
Surgical vaginal rejuvenation at Visionary Centre for Women involves a minimally invasive outpatient surgical procedure that improves the strength and control of the interior vaginal muscles. This treatment is recommended for women with moderate to severe vaginal relaxation and this is a permanent solution. Nonsurgical rejuvenation using radiofrequency energy with THERMIva® and/or platelet-rich plasma is also available to treat lightly sagging labial skin, vaginal dryness, and stress incontinence. Vaginal rejuvenation with THERMIva® can be a successful treatment for many cases of vaginal laxity.
Dr. Hayes at Visionary Centre for Women can determine whether vaginal rejuvenation is a good treatment option for you. Contact us today to schedule a consultation!
