Sagging Outer Lips with Majoraplasty
Aging can change the appearance of the labia majora, which are the large outer labia lips. These outer lips may start to sag, hang down, and appear wrinkled. These effects are also often pronounced after women lose a significant amount of weight.
While sagging of the outer lips is a normal effect of the aging process, it can diminish some women’s self-confidence – especially in intimate settings or wearing tight clothing. At the Visionary Centre for Women, we offer majoraplasty for a smaller, smoother, and rejuvenated appearance of the labia majora. After this procedure, you can enjoy a boost of confidence and greater comfort in your favorite fitted clothing.
The Majoraplasty Procedure
The labia majora are the outer folds of skin found at the entrance to the vagina. During majoraplasty, the labia majora are reduced and/or reshaped to achieve a more youthful look. This is done by removing small crescents of skin from the inner area of the labia majora. Dr. Hayes will remove the amount of tissue required to achieve your desired look.
Generally, patients take a week off of work to recover following the majoraplasty procedure. Icing and elevating the area can alleviate any discomfort in the treatment area. For four to six weeks after the procedure, patients need to refrain from wearing tampons or having sex to allow the area to heal fully.
